Many factors have a direct  impact on the costs and technical requirements related to AxisVM users. The following links are provided to help keep our worldwide professionals up-to-date:

Eurocode design standards were expected to replace all European Union Member's national design codes by 2010.  They have followed the harmonization of product standards and were instituted to eliminate the barriers to the free trade of professional services.

Actual implementation of Eurocode standards and the concurrent withdrawal of each country's National Design code has been postponed in much of the European Member States. However, Eurocode designs are acceptable and used in most countries of the EU, although National Codes still exist and are also accepted.

Some countries have implemented their own National version of Eurocodes:  Switzerland (SIA-262)and Germany (DIN 1045-1).  Still others have updated specific codes to incorporate Eurocode standards (Seismic: Italy, Greece, Spain)

AxisVM will implement every National Application Document, defining country specific requirements, as they become available. Currently,  the NADs for Austria, UK, NL, Germany, Hungary, Romania and Finland are implemented in AxisVM. AxisVM does not implement draft standards.

Non-European countries are also implementing or studying the implementation of Eurocode based design codes.

International Association of Interoperability LogoBIM modeling is not a computer software acronym...it is an industry initiative to enhance effectiveness and lower costs.

A BIM model is a controlled, updateable archive of data, including designs, analysis, changes, costs, schedules, occupancy, and regulatory requirements.

The IFC file format is the basis for software of every CAD discipline to exchange, update and archive the details of the BIM model.

A fully archived BIM model is invaluable to emergency responders.

IFC file exchange will take place without a BIM model archive. This file format is truly universal, and is being upgraded continuously.

Professional Associations, Government Departments/ Ministries, and Industry/Manufacturing Associations all have an active interest in design codes, product standards, and interoperability to increase competitiveness.
