AxisVM provides a leading edge Visual Modeling user interface with multi-window model creation and display. Each graphics window has its independent settings. During any command it is possible to switch to the graphics window that shows the best view of the model or results of your action!
Property Editor: Selected node, truss, beam, rib, surface or domain elements, supports and point loads can be edited and changes made to the element type, material, cross-section, Local Orientation and Z Reference, support stiffness, load value etc.
Section Lines: User defined section lines or planes that display the average result value and the sum on the section line for all result components.
Movable Toolbars: Icon menus can be positioned on the screen in any area, selected on a one-time basis or set to appear until no longer needed.
Rendered Display: For better model check, including thin-walled cross-sections and smooth rendering of curved or bent profiles.
Cross-Section Editor: Thin profiles and parametric cross-section shapes can be defined, saved and used in any model.See Quick View Animation of Cross-Section Editor
Background Layer: You can place here drawings imported from other systems. New: The user can import a picture image (jpg/bit/ tif) as the background of the screen, to allow comparisons of before and after, and visualization of proposed changes.
AxisVM can allow the user to share 3D PDF images that zoom or rotate without special tools. (opens in browswer window-rotate or zoom)
AxisVM uses tables to display numerical information on the screen allowing changes in formatting. The tables operate in the same way independent of the content displayed. All the tables AxisVM creates are available through the Table Browser dialog box by clicking its button or pressing [F12].
The model data to be displayed in the Table Browser can be selected from the tree structure in the left side of the browser. If you use Table Browser while working in the pre-processor, input model data is displayed only. While working in the post-processor, the model results are also displayed.
Tables can include extremes, selected by result calculation (deflections, stress, forces), and can be filtered by materials, cross sections, model selection, length, surface thickness, etc)
Sort, export, save, print in MS Office compatible programs. Tables can also be used to set common values to any model element: lengths, materials, cross-sections, loads, restraints, etc.
The Drawings Library contains drawings saved in the program. Drawings are not saved pictures but instructions how to draw a view of the model or parts of it including multi-window settings. Drawings can be reloaded to restore saved view and display settings. Including drawings into a report makes it easier to update the report when the model has changed and recalculated as drawings will be updated automatically like tables. Drawings Library can store displacement, force, stress diagrams of line elements, diagrams of steel and bolted joint design, punching analysis, reinforced concrete column check and beam design in an associative way.
Speed buttons allows you to change the display settings without entering the Display Option/Symbols or Options dialog. The icons are located in the bottom right corner of the graphics area
Graphic editing of the model in any view including the perspective view. Powerful selection tools. You can add or remove entities from the current selection set, or restore the previous selection. Filtered selection available.
Complete set of Zoom in/out, fit to page, pan, view undo/redo commands.View changes at the click of the mouse. Allows user defined perspective views. Workplanes can be defined to allow easy drawing on oblique planes. Guidelines can be made to create a user defined grid environment in vertical, horizontal, oblique or combinations. Geometry restraints can be selected for perpendicular or parallel conditions.
Dimension lines, labels, angles, level or elevation, free text, auto result labels can be added to the model and turned on/off as needed.
Working on parts allows easy editing of most complex 3D geometries. Includes advanced part management. Section lines for surface element results display.Rendered display for better model check.
Search for entities by type and index.
Display settings for the most appropriate model display. Configure symbol and labeling display for each finite element. Configurable 3D grid and mouse step.
Pre-loaded steel cross-section libraries loaded with most of the available European and U.S. shapes. Allows creation of custom libraries.
Integrated fully graphical cross-section editor for complex shapes. All cross-sectional properties are automatically calculated based on the graphical input of the section's shape.
SI and US system of units for international use. Allows the use of mixed unit systems.
You can select your preferences of colors, fonts, report language, etc. the user can use AxisVM in a local language and create reports in an alternative language.
